Bengals' Mims out several weeks with strained pectoral muscle

Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Amarius Mims has a strained pectoral muscle that will sideline him for "several weeks," head coach Zac Taylor said Monday, according to Joe Danneman of FOX19.

The injury won't require surgery.

When asked what Taylor meant by several weeks, the head coach read the definition of several from the dictionary.

"An indefinite number that's more than two and fewer than many," he said.

Taylor didn't rule out the Georgia product for the season opener, according to Paul Dehner of The Athletic. He said he "wouldn't take anything off the table."

Mims, 21, was selected No. 18 overall by the Bengals in this year's draft. He played 16 snaps in the club's preseason opener, allowing zero sacks and zero pressures, per PFF.

Veteran offensive tackle Trent Brown, who Cincinnati signed this offseason, was activated from the non-football injury/illness list and returned to practice Monday, Taylor told reporters.
