Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb will remain on the physically unable to perform list to start the season, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Chubb will miss at least four games as he continues to rehab the torn ACL and other knee damage he sustained in Week 2 last year.

The 28-year-old will be ineligible for a home matchup with the Dallas Cowboys, a road game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, a home contest against the New York Giants, and a visit to the Las Vegas Raiders. He'll be eligible to return in Week 5 for the club's road matchup with the Washington Commanders.

Running backs Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong are expected to handle the bulk of Cleveland's carries in Chubb's absence.

The 5-foot-11, 227-pounder rushed for 170 yards and caught four passes for 21 yards in 2023 before sustaining the season-ending injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Chubb has tallied 6,511 rushing yards and 48 touchdowns in 77 career games since being selected 35th overall in the 2018 draft. He's added 1,011 yards and four scores on 123 receptions.
