Four-time Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook is flying to Dallas for a visit Monday night with the Cowboys, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Cook played most of last season for the New York Jets but failed to make a big impact, recording 67 rushing attempts for 214 yards. After mutually agreeing to part ways with the Jets, the 29-year-old joined the Baltimore Ravens for the playoffs.

Cook played his first six NFL seasons for the Minnesota Vikings and established himself as a top tailback in his prime. The 2017 second-rounder averaged 1,883 scrimmage yards and 13 total touchdowns per 17 games played from 2019-22.

The former Florida State star has battled several injuries throughout his career but says he's in his best shape in years this season, according to Pelissero.

The running back position is one of the Cowboys' main needs, with Week 1 just two weeks away. After losing Tony Pollard in free agency, Dallas reunited with veteran Ezekiel Elliott. The team's RB depth chart also features Rico Dowdle, Royce Freeman, and Deuce Vaughn, among others.
