Report: Raiders trading Adams 'not currently an option'
The Las Vegas Raiders aren't interested in trading Davante Adams, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Moving the receiver is "not currently an option," reports Schefter, who adds the Raiders rejected interest in the star receiver in recent months.
Las Vegas turned away multiple suitors who inquired about Adams' availability over the summer, sources told Schefter. The Raiders reportedly rejected at least two teams before they submitted an offer.
It's not the first time Adams has been involved in trade speculation, with the New York Jets rumored to be an interested suitor over the offseason. However, Las Vegas has held steady that Adams isn't going anywhere. General manager Tom Telesco shut down speculation that the veteran wideout would leave earlier this year, and Adams' agent called trade buzz "baseless" in July.
The Raiders' season is off to a rocky 1-2 start. The franchise suffered a crushing loss to the Carolina Panthers last week, with head coach Antonio Pierce saying postgame that he felt some players made "business decisions" during the loss and that he would be making "business decisions" going forward.
Adams won't play in the team's Week 4 matchup against the Cleveland Browns due to a hamstring injury. He's reportedly week-to-week.
The 31-year-old is amid a five-year, $140-million contract that runs through the 2026 season.
