Dolphins' McDaniel hints at offensive changes: Everything 'on the table'

The Miami Dolphins are expected to make some offensive changes following a disappointing showing in their 31-12 defeat to the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football.

"Everything is on the table," McDaniel said postgame, according to the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson.

He added, "There will be things that will change; hard to say what those things are. There definitely is a need for it. "That (performance is) not even close to good enough. You have to open yourself to all things. ... There's a major disconnect between preparation and execution."

Tyler Huntley got the start at quarterback with both Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) and Skylar Thompson (ribs) unavailable. Huntley, who was acquired prior to Week 3, completed 14 of 22 pass attempts for 96 yards. He also ran for 40 yards and scored the team's lone touchdown.

McDaniel conceded the offensive playbook was "abbreviated to an extent" for Huntley but didn't think other players did what was necessary to help the quarterback.

The Dolphins scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter to snap a 10-quarter TD drought. Their 1-3 start is their worst under McDaniel, and they're averaging a league-low 11.3 points per game. Miami finished with 184 total yards against Tennessee on Monday.

"That's not up to my standard at all. I know for a fact I play a part in the whole thing, but it's a collective issue, for sure. We need to figure out how to score points," McDaniel said.

Star receiver Tyreek Hill appeared to be frustrated on the sideline late in the fourth quarter with his team trailing by 16 points. McDaniel didn't explain why Hill was yelling but said he'd expect Hill, as a leader, to be "visibly upset at somebody" as the team slumps to a third consecutive loss.

The Dolphins committed 10 penalties, as mistakes haunted them throughout the evening. Terron Armstead, Raheem Mostert, and Kendall Fuller were among other starters who missed the contest due to injury.

McDaniel doesn't see anybody in the locker room quitting but will hold everyone in the building accountable for their performances.

The Dolphins will look to rebound against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
