Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir, defensive lineman Ed Oliver, and safety Taylor Rapp have been ruled out of the team's Week 5 matchup against the Houston Texans, head coach Sean McDermott announced Friday, per Matt Parrino of syracuse.com.

Shakir suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter against the Baltimore Ravens and hasn't practiced this week. He fought through the ailment and still played 59% of the snaps versus Baltimore. McDermott said the Bills are taking Shakir's injury day-by-day, per Kyle Silagyi of Sports Illustrated.

"To push through the way that he did, he tweaked it fairly early in the game, and I thought (it) was a credit to him and the way he pushed through it right there," McDermott added.

The 24-year-old leads the team in targets (19), receptions (18), and receiving yards (230).

Oliver was listed as a limited participant during Thursday's practice after hurting his hamstring. He's played 69% of the club's defensive snaps through four games, totaling five tackles and one sack.

Rapp, 26, sustained a head injury against the Ravens and is still in concussion protocol. He left Sunday's game after trying to tackle running back Derrick Henry in the second quarter and didn't return. Second-round rookie Cole Bisop will start in place of Rapp, McDermott said, per Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic.

Linebacker Terrel Bernard and cornerback Taron Johnson will be listed as questionable, per Buscaglia.
