Bengals' Hill out for season with torn ACL
Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Dax Hill is out for the season after tearing his ACL on Sunday, head coach Zac Taylor confirmed Monday, per Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic.
Hill was injured in Week 5's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He left in the first quarter and didn't return.
"I thought Dax was playing really good football for us. He's worked really hard to get himself in that position. ... Certainly heartbreaking for him," Taylor told reporters postgame, according to Around the Jungle.
Hill is in his third season with the Bengals after being selected in the first round of the 2022 draft. He switched to cornerback this campaign after playing safety for the first two years of his NFL career.
The 24-year-old played 96% of the defensive snaps leading up to Sunday's game. He's allowed 13 receptions for 125 yards and one touchdown in coverage in 2024, according to Pro Football Reference.
The Bengals' cornerback depth chart heading into Week 6 includes DJ Turner II, Cam Taylor-Britt, and Josh Newton.
