Derek Carr is slated to undergo an MRI on Tuesday after injuring his oblique in the New Orleans Saints 26-13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night, the quarterback told reporters after the game, including ESPN's Katherine Terrell.

Carr left Monday's game in the fourth quarter after taking a hard hit on a fourth-down incompletion. He said the injury occurred on the throw rather than on the hit itself, according to Mike Triplett of New Orleans Football.

When asked about the ailment postgame, Carr said he was feeling "not good."

Jake Haener finished the game under center for the Saints and completed only two of his seven pass attempts for 17 yards.

Before exiting, Carr completed 18 of 28 pass attempts for 165 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

The prime-time loss was the third straight defeat for New Orleans and drops the franchise to 2-3.
