49ers' Samuel becomes 1st WR with 20 receiving TDs, 20 rushing TDs
San Francisco 49ers star Deebo Samuel made history Thursday night, becoming the first receiver in NFL history to record 20 receiving touchdowns and 20 rushing touchdowns over their career, the league announced.
Samuel reached the milestone on a 76-yard touchdown grab in the second quarter of the 36-24 victory against the Seattle Seahawks. Samuel reeled in a pass despite a diving attempt from a Seahawks defensive back and then beat linebacker Boye Mafe in a race to the end zone.
Samuel's reception was also his first receiving score of the 2024 season. He entered Thursday's prime-time contest with 269 yards from scrimmage and one rushing touchdown.
The 28-year-old ended the night as the game's leading receiver with 102 yards. He added 15 rushing yards on four carries.
With the victory, the 49ers moved to 3-3 on the season.
