Jags owner Khan: 'I still believe in' Pederson, Baalke
Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan still has faith in head coach Doug Pederson and general manager Trent Baalke.
"I still believe in them," Khan said Saturday, according to the Jacksonville Florida Times-Union's Demetrius Harvey. "I believe in the players, I believe in the coaching staff. I believe in Trent (Baalke)."
The Jaguars are 1-4 after entering the season with what Khan referred to as the best team in franchise history. Khan recognized that the team hasn't lived up to those lofty expectations but still thinks it's built to win.
"Obviously, the results are disappointing for all of them, just as well as me or any other Jaguar fan, but, the key thing one has to understand (is) we have evolved and really got to a level," Khan said. "I think we've got the players, we've got the coaching, we've got the facilities."
Pederson is 19-20 since being named the Jaguars' head coach ahead of the 2022 season. The 56-year-old is 61-57-1 across his time with the Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles. Baalke was named general manager in 2021 after joining the team in 2020.
Jacksonville earned its first victory of the season in Week 5, topping the Indianapolis Colts in a 37-34 contest. The club will look to build a winning streak Sunday against the Chicago Bears in London, England.
