The Los Angeles Chargers placed cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. and running back Gus Edwards on injured reserve Saturday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Samuel is dealing with a shoulder ailment, while Edwards has an ankle injury. Both will miss at least four games.
Samuel has played 98% of the team's defensive snaps this season. The 25-year-old has tallied 13 tackles and a pair of pass deflections. He's allowed an 89.6 passer rating in coverage, according to Pro Football Reference.
Edwards joined the Chargers this offseason after spending the first five seasons of his career with the Baltimore Ravens. He's rushed 38 times for 113 yards this year.
