Ridley unhappy with Titans' game plan after 8-target, 0-catch outing
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley voiced his frustration with the team following his quiet performance in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
Ridley ran 21 routes and was targeted eight times against the Colts but finished the day with zero catches. He also had one rushing attempt for nine yards as Tennessee dropped to 1-4 this season.
"I need some (targets) in the beginning of the f-----g game, too," Ridley said, per AtoZ Sports Nashville. "Shit is getting f-----g crazy for me."
He continued: "I gotta get the ball a little earlier in the game, so I can be in the game."
Ridley landed one of the offseason's biggest deals, signing a four-year, $92-million contract to join the Titans after playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023.
The former second-team All-Pro has caught only nine passes for 141 yards and one touchdown this season. He's been limited to two receptions in his last three games.
"I don't know, man, this has been a little weird. We just gotta figure it out," Ridley added.
Entering Week 6, Ridley had been targeted eight times in the first halves of games this season compared to 11 second-half targets. A first-round pick in 2018, he posted the second 1,000-yard season of his career in 2023.
