There's optimism that Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua will play Thursday night against the Minnesota Vikings, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports.

Nacua's return would mean the Rams get the second-year wideout and veteran receiver Cooper Kupp back in the lineup Thursday. Nacua has been sidelined since Week 1 with a knee injury, while Kupp has sat out since injuring his ankle in Week 2.

Nacua may not get a full workload if he plays against the Vikings, but the BYU product is trending toward at least being active for the contest, according to Pelissero.

The Rams have yet to activate Nacua off injured reserve but opened his practice window earlier this week.

Nacua is coming off an electric 2023 season, breaking the NFL record for most receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,486) by a rookie.

The Rams have struggled this season amid a slew of injuries. L.A. enters the prime-time matchup with a 2-4 record to sit at the bottom of the NFC West.
