Daniels: I want to play vs. Bears, but not my decision
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is hoping a rib injury won't keep him out of Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears but understands the decision is out of his control.
"I want to play, but (it's) not my decision," Daniels told reporters Friday, including John Keim of ESPN. The signal-caller added that he feels good.
Daniels suffered the injury in last Sunday's victory over the Carolina Panthers and was deemed week-to-week. He missed practice Wednesday and Thursday before participating Friday. The LSU product is questionable for Sunday's contest.
"We will assess how he responds to the work that we did over the next 48 hours," head coach Dan Quinn said Friday, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. "But we really pushed it today."
Daniels has quickly put himself in the conversation for the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year award after compiling a 5-2 record with a league-leading 75.6% completion rate. He's also thrown six touchdowns and rushed for four scores.
