Patriots' Godchaux: Rodgers 'definitely don't look the same'
Patriots defensive lineman Davon Godchaux is unimpressed by what he saw from Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers during New England's 25-22 win over New York on Sunday.
"He definitely don't look the same," Godchaux said postgame, according to Nicole Menner of NBC 10. "Shit, I can run him down and catch him. He don't look mobile at all."
The veteran defender added: "It was good for us. We can get out there and attack him in the passing game, too."
The Jets' offense has struggled to score points consistently in 2024, but Rodgers didn't suffer any turnovers against the Patriots. The four-time NFL MVP finished the day with 17 completions on 28 attempts for 233 yards and two touchdowns. It was the first game without an interception since Week 4 for Rodgers, who owns the lowest passing interception percentage in NFL history.
The 40-year-old - who missed most of last season due to an Achilles injury - battled knee and hamstring injuries this past week that limited him at practice.
On the season, Rodgers has completed 61.6% of his passes for 1,896 yards and 12 touchdowns against seven interceptions - good for an 85.1 passer rating. The 10-time Pro Bowler has never had a rating under 90 in a season in which he started more than five games.
"I think he’s struggling right now," Godchaux said of Rodgers. "Just a Hall of Fame quarterback like that, hate to see him go out that way. But I'm always gonna take a win against him."
New York outgained New England in total yards (336-247) and first downs (22-19), but the Jets converted only four of their 10 third-down situations and committed eight penalties to fall to 2-6 this season.
