Packers' Love questionable vs. Lions
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is questionable for the club's Week 9 matchup against the Detroit Lions, head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters Friday, including The Athletic's Matt Schneidman.
Love sustained a groin injury in last week's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, although an MRI earlier this week reportedly showed that he avoided any major damage. The 2020 first-rounder didn't participate in Wednesday's practice but logged limited sessions Thursday and Friday.
Love, who turns 26 on Nov. 2, has appeared in six games this season. He's thrown for 1,547 yards, 15 touchdowns, and nine picks. Love leads the NFL in touchdown pass rate (7.5%) but is also tied for the most interceptions thrown.
Malik Willis is expected to start if Love can't play. He's completed 74.4% of his passes for 380 yards, three scores, and no interceptions in relief of Love this season.
The winner of Sunday's Lions-Packers matchup will hold first place in the NFC North.
