New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye has cleared the concussion protocol ahead of Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans, the team announced Saturday.
The Patriots also removed Maye from the injury report, putting him in line to play Sunday.
Maye suffered a concussion in last week's win over the New York Jets when he took a helmet-to-helmet hit in the first quarter. He remained in to finish the drive but later exited the game and didn't return.
The Patriots were reportedly optimistic about the rookie's chances of playing prior to him clearing the protocol.
The third overall pick has thrown for five touchdowns to two interceptions across four appearances and three starts this season.
