Report: Jaguars' Lawrence unlikely to face Vikings due to shoulder injury
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is unlikely to play Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Lawrence's Week 10 status has been up in the air due to a left shoulder injury that made him a limited participant at practice Wednesday.
The 2021 No. 1 overall pick is weighing his options, notes Rapoport, who adds that the passer could decide to undergo surgery.
Lawrence said he was banged up following Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, which dropped the Jaguars to 2-7. The 25-year-old has lacked consistency this season, posting a 61.3% completion rate and an 87.9 passer rating - his worst single-season marks since his rookie campaign.
With Lawrence likely unavailable, Jacksonville is in line to start quarterback Mac Jones against the Vikings. A former first-round pick, Jones joined the Jaguars this past offseason via a trade from the New England Patriots.
Jacksonville also signed veteran passer C.J. Beathard off the Miami Dolphins' practice squad Wednesday.
