The New England Patriots are activating star defensive lineman Christian Barmore off the non-football illness list, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Barmore has been sidelined since being diagnosed with blood clots in July.
The 25-year-old should make his season debut Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, Rapoport reports.
Barmore returned to practice Thursday for the first time since his diagnosis. He missed Friday's practice and finished the week with a questionable label for Sunday's matchup.
The 2021 second-round pick has been a key cog in the Patriots' defense with his 8.5 sacks last season leading the team. New England rewarded Barmore with a four-year extension worth up to $92 million last offseason.
