Houston Texans safety Jalen Pitre is expected to miss multiple weeks with a partially torn pectoral muscle, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Surgery isn't currently necessary but could be needed eventually, per Pelissero. The timeline for his return remains unknown, but the 2022 second-rounder could play again this season.

Pitre sustained the injury in Sunday's loss to the Tennessee Titans.

The 25-year-old has played 87% of the team's defensive snaps this season and tallied 65 tackles, a forced fumble, an interception, and eight pass deflections.

Houston's upcoming schedule includes a road matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, a bye week, and a home contest against the Miami Dolphins.
