New York Jets head coach Jeff Ulbrich said there's been no talk of shutting down quarterback Aaron Rodgers for the remainder of the season, according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic.

Rodgers will remain the starter for the upcoming matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

Rumors emerged this weekend around Rodgers' future after The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported that it "appears increasingly likely" that Rodgers could be placed on injured reserve in the coming weeks, though no decision had been made.

Rodgers reportedly has also resisted getting testing done on his injuries in order to not reveal the extent of the issues, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

However, Ulbrich also shot that rumor down, stating that Rodgers declining medical evaluations is news to him, per Rosenblatt.

New York reportedly would like to move on from Rodgers after the 2024 season. Team owner Woody Johnson apparently even suggested benching Rodgers for Tyrod Taylor to members of the franchise's brass following a Week 4 loss because he felt Rodgers was holding the team back.

The Rodgers era has been a disaster for the Jets, who sit 3-8 and in last place in the AFC East. The franchise is in the midst of cleaning house after firing general manager Joe Douglas and head coach Robert Saleh during the season.

Rodgers, 40, is signed through 2025 but has no guaranteed money remaining on his contract, according to Over The Cap.
