Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford suffered a lateral ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the New Orleans Saints, but the injury shouldn't affect his status going forward, head coach Sean McVay said Monday, according to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic.

Stafford completed 14 of his 24 pass attempts for 183 yards and two touchdowns Sunday. Both of his touchdown passes came in the fourth quarter, and a 7-yard pass to Puka Nacua with 8:57 remaining proved to be the game-winning score.

The 36-year-old signal-caller has completed 66% of his throws this season for 17 touchdowns to seven interceptions.

He's guided the Rams to a 6-6 record, tied with the Arizona Cardinals for second in the NFC West. Only the 7-5 Seattle Seahawks have a better record in the division.

The Rams welcome the 10-2 Buffalo Bills to L.A. on Sunday.
