Bucs' Winfield missing multiple weeks with knee sprain

Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield will miss multiple weeks with a knee sprain, coach Todd Bowles told reporters Monday, including the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud.

Winfield suffered a right knee injury in the second quarter of Sunday's win against the Las Vegas Raiders and was later ruled out. He previously missed four contests with a foot injury he sustained in Tampa Bay's first game of the season.

Fellow safeties Jordan Whitehead and Mike Edwards are also sidelined with a torn pectoral muscle and a hamstring strain, respectively.

The 26-year-old Winfield is the highest-paid safety in league history after signing a four-year, $84.1-million deal in May. Winfield earned All-Pro honors in 2023 and was the NFL's forced fumbles co-leader.
