Carolina Panthers rookie running back Jonathon Brooks re-tore the ACL in his right knee in Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, head coach Dave Canales announced Monday.
This is the second time Brooks has torn the ACL in his right knee over the last 13 months, with the first injury coming in November 2023 while he was in college with Texas.
"He's heartbroken. I'm heartbroken," Canales said, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. "The whole group, just feeling for him."
Brooks suffered the noncontact injury while attempting to make a cut in the backfield Sunday.

The rookie rusher missed the first 10 games of the season recovering from his previous ACL tear. He was being eased back in before Sunday's injury, totaling 22 yards on nine carries.
The Texas product was the first running back selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, picked 46th overall.
