Panthers release WR Armanti Edwards
The Armanti Edwards era is over in Carolina. Frankly, it never really began.
Panthers head coach Ron Rivera praised Edwards during training camp, calling him the team's most improved player. Let this be a reminder that preseason hype often means very little.
The Panthers used a 2010 third-round pick on Edwards (and the team traded a future second-round pick to acquire the pick used on Edwards). He has just five career receptions.
