Report: Giants holding private workouts with Sanders, Milroe, Shough
The New York Giants are taking a deep look at the quarterback position ahead of next week's NFL draft, hosting a trio of prospects for private workouts, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Colorado's Shedeur Sanders, Alabama's Jalen Milroe, and Louisville's Tyler Shough will each have individual workouts with the Giants' brass, Rapoport added.
ESPN's Adam Schefter previously reported Sanders will work out for the Giants on Thursday in Colorado.
New York, which owns the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, has studied Sanders considerably, including during the Buffaloes' pro day earlier in April, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Sanders' stock is one of the biggest questions in this year's draft. The Tennessee Titans are projected to select quarterback Cam Ward first overall, and two-way star Travis Hunter is the favorite to land with the Cleveland Browns at No. 2.
The Giants would then presumably have pass-rusher Abdul Carter - arguably the best prospect of the draft - available at No. 3, but the QB position remains an issue for New York. It was reported in March that Sanders was still in play for the franchise despite it signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston this offseason.
Many consider Sanders the second-best quarterback of the 2025 class behind Ward, but he could reportedly slip in the first round. The New Orleans Saints landed Sanders ninth overall in the latest edition of theScore's NFL mock draft.
Meanwhile, Milroe is thought to have significant upside. He demonstrated his dual-threat ability by scoring more than 30 total touchdowns in each of his two seasons as Alabama's starting quarterback.
Shough is viewed as an older, more polished prospect. He'll turn 26 during the 2025 season. He threw for 3,195 yards and 23 touchdowns against six interceptions in his lone campaign with the Cardinals after starting his college career with Oregon and Texas Tech.
