Steelers' Pickens doubtful vs. Eagles
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens is likely to miss a second straight game due to a hamstring injury, head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters Tuesday, including ESPN's Brooke Pryor.
Tomlin added there's a small chance Pickens could play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, after an MRI, Pickens' injury proved to be worse than initially believed.
Pickens missed the first game of his NFL career in last Sunday's victory over the Cleveland Browns after popping up on the injury report Friday.
Tight end Pat Freiermuth was the leading receiver in the victory with 48 yards. Veteran Scotty Miller led all Steelers wideouts with 38 yards. Mike Williams also pitched in 36 yards, while Van Jefferson and Calvin Austin combined for 14 yards on two grabs.
Pickens is in the midst of his best season, averaging a career-high 4.6 receptions and 70.8 yards per game. He's totaled 850 yards and three touchdowns on 55 catches.
The Steelers are 10-3 and have won seven of their last eight games. They control their own destiny in the AFC North ahead of the 8-5 Baltimore Ravens.
