Report: Jets to interview Robinson, Riddick for GM job
The New York Jets are expected to speak to former Tennessee Titans general manager Jon Robinson and ESPN analyst Louis Riddick when they begin interviews for their vacant general manager position this week, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Robinson's interview will happen this week while Riddick's will be sometime afterward, Schefter adds. The Jets are also expected to interview other candidates.
Robinson was the Titans' general manager from 2016-22 and put up a 66-48 record. They made the playoffs on three occasions with their best result being an AFC title game appearance in 2019.
He was fired after a 7-10 campaign in 2022 but strung together a 12-win campaign and an 11-win season in 2021 and 2020, respectively. The Titans were 9-7 or better in six of his seven years in charge.
Robinson was also part of a front office that drafted Derrick Henry and A.J. Brown. However, the team later traded Brown for a first-round pick, which was then used on receiver Treylon Burks. Burks has yet to exceed the 444 yards he produced in his rookie year and has four catches for 34 yards in 2024.
Meanwhile, Riddick has experience working in NFL front offices, previously serving as director of pro personnel for the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Jets are in the midst of a transformation after firing both general manager Joe Douglas and head coach Robert Saleh this season. They sit at 3-10, tied for last in the AFC East.
