Geno Smith to undergo tests after injuring knee on SNF

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith sustained a knee injury during Sunday night's 30-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Smith went down and was slow to get up after taking a low hit while attempting a pass in the third quarter. He spent time in the medical tent before walking to the locker room. Smith did return to the sideline minutes later but watched the rest of the game from the bench.

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said postgame that Smith wanted to return to the matchup but wasn't physically able to. Macdonald added the veteran passer will undergo tests to determine the severity of his injury.

"We'll do all the tests tomorrow," Macdonald said, according to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. "Structurally, it looks like it's OK."

Smith completed 15 of 19 pass attempts for 149 yards and no touchdowns against one interception before exiting. Backup Sam Howell was 5-for-14 passing with 24 yards and one INT in relief.

The Seahawks entered the weekend as NFC West leaders but dropped to the conference's 8-seed with their loss. Seattle, now 8-6, plays the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
