Mahomes, Brown off injury report ahead of game vs. Texans
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown are off the Kansas City Chiefs' injury report ahead of Saturday's matchup against the Houston Texans, the team announced Thursday.
Mahomes was a full participant in all three practices this week after sustaining an ankle injury in last week's win over the Cleveland Browns.
The 29-year-old completed 19 of 38 passes for 159 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions on the road before suffering the ailment. Backup Carson Wentz replaced the two-time MVP for eight snaps.
Mahomes has completed 66.7% of his passes for 3,348 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions this season. He leads all quarterbacks in fourth-quarter comebacks (five) and game-winning drives (seven) in 2024.
Brown, meanwhile, has been rehabbing an SC joint injury that required surgery. The speedster has yet to appear in a contest this campaign.
The 27-year-old wideout posted 574 yards and four touchdowns on 51 receptions with the Arizona Cardinals in 2023. He's tallied 3,644 yards and 28 scores since being drafted in the first round in 2019.
Brown's Chiefs debut comes against a Texans defense that ranks fourth in total yards (302.4) and ninth in points (21.4) allowed per game.
