Colts' Richardson won't play season finale vs. Jaguars

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson won't play in the team's season finale Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars because of a back injury.

Joe Flacco will get his sixth start of the year. The 39-year-old also started last week's game versus the New York Giants. Richardson said Wednesday that he could "barely walk" because of the ailment.

"Last week was tough," Richardson said. "I couldn't even stand up on Tuesday ... you know, crawling around the house but I'm here, I'm standing now."

Head coach Shane Steichen told reporters Friday that Richardson didn't make enough progress this week to return for Sunday's contest, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. An MRI revealed a disk issue that is causing the back injury.

Richardson, 22, is 6-5 in 11 starts this season, racking up a total of 2,313 yards and 14 touchdowns along with 12 interceptions. He was benched for two games in October after beginning the season as the starting quarterback.
