The Chicago Bears have requested to interview Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn for their head coach opening, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores is also drawing interest from the Bears, a source told NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe.

The Bears fired Matt Eberflus on Nov. 29 and closed the campaign at 5-12. Offensive coordinator Thomas Brown finished the season as Chicago's interim head coach.

Detroit's offense finished the regular season second in total yards (409.5) and passing yards per game (263.2), sixth in rushing yards per game, and first in points per contest (33.2). The Bears' best ranking among those categories was 25th in rushing.

Johnson has been rumored to be interested in the Bears' opening.

Glenn, meanwhile, coached an injury-depleted Lions defense that finished seventh in points per game (20.1). The unit also tallied 24 takeaways, tied for 10th in the league.

The New York Jets and New Orleans Saints are also expected to request an interview with Glenn, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Flores, meanwhile, led a Vikings defense that allowed 335.4 yards and 19.5 points per game. Those marks ranked 16th and fifth in the league, respectively.

Chicago has also requested permission to interview Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The 37-year-old has served as the Cardinals' play-caller over the past two seasons.

Additionally, the Bears have requested to speak with New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, a source told Rapoport. Kafka began his NFL coaching career in 2017. The 37-year-old took the Giants' coordinator job in 2022.
