Report: Cowboys request to interview Eagles' Kellen Moore
The Dallas Cowboys requested to speak to Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore about their head coaching vacancy, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo report.
The interview is expected to take place at some point this weekend before the Eagles' divisional-round game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Moore began his NFL coaching career with Dallas. He spent the 2018 season as the Cowboys' quarterbacks coach and the next four seasons (2019-22) as their offensive coordinator.
Moore and the Cowboys mutually parted ways after the 2022 campaign. He served as offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023 before taking the same position with the Eagles this season.
His best year in charge of the Cowboys' offense was 2021 when his unit led the NFL in points scored and yardage. In four of his six seasons as an offensive coordinator, Moore's offense ranked in the top 10 in scoring.
He entered the NFL as an undrafted free-agent quarterback in 2012 and finished his playing career with the Cowboys before transitioning to coaching. He appeared in three games with Dallas - making two starts - and threw for four touchdowns to six interceptions.
Dallas split with former head coach Mike McCarthy on Monday after five seasons together. The NFC East franchise spoke with Colorado head coach Deion Sanders about the job and is also reportedly interested in Robert Saleh and Leslie Frazier.
