The Houston Texans are moving on from offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 2024 campaign was Slowik's second as the team's OC. Houston ranked 12th in yards (342.4) and tied for 13th in points (22.2) per game in 2023, but both of those marks dropped to 19th in 2024 as the team averaged 319.7 yards and 21.9 points.
Quarterback C.J. Stroud's numbers also regressed in 2024. He threw for 381 fewer yards, three fewer touchdowns, and seven more interceptions this season while playing two more games.
Slowik was a head coaching candidate at the end of the 2023 season, but he's only interviewed for the New York Jets' vacancy this time around.
The 37-year-old joined the Texans after working with the San Francisco 49ers from 2017-22. He began his coaching career with the Washington Commanders franchise in 2011.
