Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles fell short two years ago in Super Bowl LVII against the Kansas City Chiefs, but the quarterback says that failure has only motivated him further.

"I've learned so much," Hurts told reporters Monday, including ESPN's Tim McManus. "It's the same as any other game and, you know, I think the moments are the moments. But ultimately, you know, every game has its lessons, good, bad or indifferent. So, just being able to become wiser, grow and mature and take all these lessons in for the next season and the next games.

"It's had a great driving force. It lit a flame, lit a fire in me, and to have this opportunity again is exactly what you work for."

Kansas City defeated Philadelphia 38-35 in the 2023 Super Bowl with Hurts accumulating 304 passing yards, 70 rushing yards, and four touchdowns. It was the first of the Chiefs' back-to-back Lombardi Trophy triumphs.

The Eagles are in position to deny their AFC counterpart's attempt to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls, though Hurts knows it won't be easy.

"You've got to be able to finish," Hurts said, "and that's going to take great focus, a great week of prep this week, putting it all together."

The Eagles enter Super Bowl LIX with tremendous momentum. Philadelphia has won 15 of its past 16 games, including playoffs. The offense hit new heights with the addition of 2,000-plus-yard rusher Saquon Barkley, while Hurts and receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith have continued to lead the passing attack.
