Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro believes the Philadelphia Eagles overtook the Dallas Cowboys as "America's Team" with their latest Super Bowl win.

The Eagles are holding their Super Bowl LIX victory parade Friday, and Shapiro threw some shade at their NFC East rivals ahead of the celebration.

"I'm so damn proud of this team," Shapiro said on a call with CBS Philadelphia. "People love to hate on the Eagles. People love to hate on Philly. I think we became America's Team in all of this. I hope Dallas hears this."

The Eagles defeated the two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX to capture the franchise's second Lombardi Trophy.

The Cowboys, meanwhile, failed to make the playoffs after finishing third in the NFC East at 7-10. They last won a Super Bowl in 1996.
