Texas' Golden paces combine WRs with 4.29 40 time
Texas' Matthew Golden posted the fastest 40-yard dash time among wide receivers in the NFL combine and one of the fastest in combine history.
Golden ran a 4.29-second official time Saturday. Only Kentucky defensive back Maxwell Hairston (4.28) posted a quicker time at this year's combine. The Texas prospect recorded the eighth-fastest time ever by a wideout at the annual event.
6-foot-5, 205-pound Dont'e Thornton Jr. posted the next quickest time with a 4.30. The Tennessee product showed off his explosive potential with a 1.51 10-yard split. He also recorded a 33-inch vertical jump and a 10'6 broad jump.

Golden's teammate, Isaiah Bond, ran 4.39 after saying Friday he was going to break Xavier Worthy's record of 4.21. Bond didn't break the combine record but did produce the ninth-fastest mark among wideouts.
