Report: Texans trading for Jaguars' Kirk
The Houston Texans are acquiring wide receiver Christian Kirk in exchange for the Jacksonville Jaguars' 2026 seventh-round pick, The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports.
The Jaguars reportedly planned on cutting Kirk prior to finding a trade partner.
Houston will take on the final year and the $16.5 million remaining on Kirk's contract, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
The 28-year-old wideout had 27 receptions for 379 yards and one touchdown through eight games in 2024 before a broken collarbone ended his season.
Kirk spent three seasons in Jacksonville after the franchise signed him to a four-year, $72-million contract in 2022. His best campaign came in his first year with the Jaguars when he set career highs in receptions (84), receiving yards (1,108), and touchdowns (eight).
Houston will pair Kirk with star receiver Nico Collins for quarterback C.J. Stroud. The Texans also are slated to have wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Robert Woods enter free agency next week.
The Jaguars also reportedly released tight end Evan Engram, returner Devin Duvernay, and cornerback Ronald Darby.
