Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider revealed that many teams have reached out regarding a trade for wide receiver DK Metcalf.

"Obviously, DK has requested a trade, and we are entertaining that," Schneider said, according to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. "We are talking to a ton of teams, taking offers, seeing what that looks like, and, yeah, here we go."

News of Metcalf's trade request emerged Wednesday, and the franchise is reportedly seeking a first- and third-round pick in return. Metcalf, who has one year left on his current deal, would also like a new contract in the range of $30 million per year.

Schneider didn't rule out the possibility of Metcalf returning to Seattle in 2025, crediting the receiver's professionalism.

"DK is a very good communicator," Schneider explained. "He's a guy that understands the business, he's a businessman himself. I think he understands that we are going to head down this road. He understands that we are going to do what's best for the organization, and that if things don't fall the way he may want that there's a good chance he could end up being here. So at that point, we all turn the corner and move forward. ... Through this whole process, he has been extremely professional and respectful."

If a trade comes together, Schneider hopes it's completed before the NFL draft so that his team has an idea of how to address the void.

"You definitely want to know what's going on before draft time because he’s such an important part of our team, the organization, the offensive philosophy that these guys want to move forward with on our new coaching staff," Schneider said.

Metcalf, who was drafted in the second round in 2019, had 66 receptions for 992 yards and five touchdowns in 2024. The two-time Pro Bowler has totalled 6,324 yards and 48 scores across six seasons.
