The Atlanta Falcons are releasing defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.
Jarrett has been a cornerstone of the Falcons' defense since the club drafted him in the fifth round in 2015. He earned a second-team All-Pro selection in 2019 and picked up Pro Bowl nods in 2019 and 2020.
The 31-year-old was entering the final year of a three-year, $49.5-million deal. Releasing Jarrett will save the Falcons $16.25 million in cap space with a $4.125-million dead-cap hit, according to Over the Cap.
Jarrett posted 53 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks in 2024 while playing 67% of Atlanta's defensive snaps.
He tallied 496 total tackles, 77 tackles for loss, and 36.5 sacks in 152 games with the franchise.
