Veteran wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling is joining the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year contract worth up to $5.5 million, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Valdes-Scantling finished the 2024 season on the New Orleans Saints after starting the year with the Buffalo Bills. He showed off his big-play potential in New Orleans by catching 17 passes for 385 yards and four touchdowns in eight games with the team.

The 30-year-old has averaged 17.4 yards per reception throughout his career, which also includes stints with the Green Bay Packers (2018-2021) and Kansas City Chiefs (2022-23).

The Seahawks are rebuilding their group of wide receivers after trading DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers and releasing Tyler Lockett. Jaxon Smith-Njigba enters 2025 as the team's top weapon after recording 100 catches, 1,130 yards, and six touchdowns in 2024.

Seattle's WR depth chart also features Jake Bobo and Dareke Young, among others.

The Seahawks recently traded starting quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders and agreed to sign Sam Darnold as his replacement.
