Report: Saints reuniting with Brandin Cooks on 2-year deal
The New Orleans Saints are signing veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Cooks will sign a two-year contract worth $13 million, NFL insider Josina Anderson reports.
It's a reunion for Cooks and the Saints, as he was drafted by the club in the first round in 2014. He spent the last two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. Injuries limited the 31-year-old to 10 games in 2024, and he finished the campaign with only 26 receptions for 259 yards and three touchdowns.
Known for his speed, Cooks has found success with multiple franchises throughout his career. He's posted 1,000-yard receiving seasons with four different teams, tied for the most in NFL history.
The Oregon State product had 215 receptions, 2,861 yards, and 20 touchdowns in 42 games over his three-season stint in New Orleans.
Cooks also spent time with the New England Patriots (2017), Los Angeles Rams (2018-19), and Houston Texans (2020-22).
He joins a Saints wide receiver depth chart headlined by two-time 1,000-yard wideout Chris Olave. Rashid Shaheed, meanwhile, averaged 17.5 yards per reception and scored three touchdowns in just six games in 2024.
