Chargers' Harbaugh not ruling out Allen reunion: 'Would be cool'
Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh isn't ruling out the possibility of signing free-agent wide receiver Keenan Allen.
"Anything's possible," Harbaugh said Monday at the AFC coaches breakfast of the NFL's Annual League Meeting, per The Athletic's Daniel Popper. "That would be cool."
Allen spent 11 seasons with the Chargers before joining the Chicago Bears ahead of the 2024 campaign. The 6-foot-2, 211-pounder posted 744 yards and seven touchdowns on 70 receptions last year.
Harbaugh joined the Chargers in 2024 and never coached Allen.
Wide receiver Mike Williams appeared to pitch a reunion between the two sides Friday. He posted a picture of himself and Allen on his Instagram story from their time as Chargers teammates and captioned it "Run it back turbo," according to Kris Rhim of ESPN.
Williams played with Allen in L.A. from 2017-23 before playing for the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024. Williams, 30, reunited with the Bolts on a one-year deal in March.
Allen said in January that he'd only play for the Bears, Chargers, or Los Angeles Rams if he suits up for the 2025 season.
The 32-year-old tallied 904 receptions, 10,530 yards, and 59 touchdowns in 139 games with the Chargers. Those marks rank second, second, and third, respectively, in franchise history.
