Dolphins' Armstead retiring after 12 seasons

Miami Dolphins offensive tackle and five-time Pro Bowler Terron Armstead is retiring, he confirmed to Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports.

The Dolphins entered this offseason uncertain if Armstead would return. Head coach Mike McDaniel said earlier this week that he believed the 33-year-old tackle was close to making a decision.

Armstead enjoyed a 12-year career after the New Orleans Saints drafted him in the third round in 2013. He spent his first nine NFL seasons in New Orleans before joining Miami.

While Armstead developed into a dependable and high-level tackle, he struggled to avoid injuries. He failed to play a full campaign across his 12 years in the league.

Armstead's best stretch came from 2018-23, when he earned five Pro Bowl selections over those six years.

He started 15 games for the Dolphins in 2024, his final NFL season.
