Rams' McVay: Never rule out reuniting with Ramsey

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay says you shouldn't close the door on a possible reunion with cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who the Miami Dolphins recently put on the trade block.

"He's a great player," McVay said Tuesday, according to Adam Grosbard of L.A. Daily News. "We know him very well, we know him intimately. You would certainly never rule out the possibility of that. But I think, like (general manager) Les (Snead) articulated, our focus and concentration is on this week's upcoming draft. There's a lot of layers that would need to be worked out with a player of his magnitude and some of the different things that accompany that."

McVay added: "But you would never eliminate the possibility of adding a total stud and a guy that can do a lot of different things like he's continued to do, like he did here, like he did in Jacksonville, and like he's done for the last couple of years in Miami."

Ramsey spent four seasons with the Rams from 2019-22 before L.A. traded him to the Dolphins. The seven-time Pro Bowler earned three of those selections and a Super Bowl ring during his time with the Rams.

Snead added that he's had "discussions" with the Dolphins about Ramsey and "getting through the draft," though he wasn't sure "where they're at in the process."

Ramsey is owed $25.1 million in fully guaranteed money this year. However, any team that trades for him would only be responsible for $21.1 million as the Dolphins already paid him a $4-million roster bonus. Ramsey is under contract through 2028 after signing a three-year extension worth $72.1 million in 2024.

The 30-year-old cornerback has recorded 24 interceptions over his career.
