The Kansas City Chiefs' wide receiver concerns continue to grow.

Xavier Worthy suffered a shoulder injury in the first quarter of Friday's 27-21 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He was officially ruled out early in the second.

Worthy, the Chiefs' first-round pick in 2024, went to the locker room after colliding with tight end Travis Kelce while running a route.

Head coach Andy Reid said Worthy will undergo an MRI when the team returns to Kansas City, according to Charles Goldman of A to Z Sports.

The Chiefs entered Week 1 already down suspended receiver Rashee Rice and fourth-round rookie Jalen Royals, who's also hurt.

No Kansas City wideout had more than 700 receiving yards in 2024 while Kelce led the team with 823 yards.

The Chiefs' offense - once one of the NFL's most dominant units with quarterback Patrick Mahomes - struggled to build momentum early against the Chargers. Kansas City improved in the second half and saw Hollywood Brown finish the game as its leading pass-catcher with 10 catches for 99 yards.
