Njoku: Time to find 'new home' after 9 seasons with Browns
Tight end David Njoku announced Monday that he won't return for another season with the Cleveland Browns in 2026.
"The time for me to find a new home has come," Njoku wrote on Instagram.
Njoku, who's spent the past nine seasons with the Browns, is expected to become a free agent this offseason.
His best season came in 2023 when he was selected to the Pro Bowl after hauling in 81 receptions for 882 yards and six touchdowns. However, Njoku wasn't able to replicate that production over the last two seasons while dealing with multiple injuries. The 29-year-old was limited to 293 yards and four TD grabs on 33 receptions in 12 games during the 2025 campaign.
Njoku joined Cleveland as a first-round pick in 2017 and made 118 appearances with the team. His 384 catches rank third in franchise history.
The Browns will move on with Harold Fannin as their leading tight end. Fannin stood out as a third-round rookie in 2025, catching 72 passes for 731 yards and six touchdowns.
