NO 49, DAL 17: Saints set NFL record with 40 first downs in win over Cowboys
The New Orleans Saints embarrassed the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night with a 49-17 win. Dallas could do nothing to slow down the Saints offense as Drew Brees threw four touchdown passes.

- The Saints broke an NFL record with 40 first downs in the game, Dallas had just nine
- New Orleans set a franchise record with 625 total yards, that's also the most the Cowboys have allowed in a game in franchise history
- Brees was in complete control. He finished 34-of-41 for 392 yards with four touchdowns. He completed 19 straight passes at one point during the first half
- It was Brees' 23rd career game with four or more touchdown passes. That ties him with Brett Favre for second most all-time, trailing only Peyton Manning's 27
- Mark Ingram had 14 carries for a career-high 145 yards and a touchdown, it was his first career 100-yard game
- Marques Colston returned after missing last week's loss to the Jets. The Saints wideout caught seven passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. It was his first 100-yard game of the season and 24th of his career
- Jimmy Graham caught five passes for 59 yards. He now has 269 career receptions, most in Saints history by a tight end
- The Saints were 9-of-12 on third down while the Cowboys went 0-for-9
- Tony Romo struggled, going 10-of-24 for 128 yards and a touchdown
- No Cowboy wide receiver caught a pass in the first half
- Dez Bryant had just one catch (for 44 yards) that came with just over a minute to go in the third quarter
- Dallas lost linebackers Sean Lee and Justin Durant for the game due to hamstring injuries
- DeMarco Murray had 16 carries for 89 yards and a touchdown. Dallas ran the ball only nine times during last week's win over the Vikings
