Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones expects to be ready by the time the 2026 NFL season begins.

"Absolutely," Jones said when asked if he anticipates starting Week 1, according to James Boyd of The Athletic.

The 29-year-old participated in drills Wednesday, less than six months after tearing his Achilles tendon in December. Jones added he's "feeling good."

"There's definitely still work to be done and progress to be made," Jones told reporters. "I think it's just continuing to get stronger, continuing to run faster, cut harder, and progress according to the program. It's been good. I think we've hit all our marks so far."

Jones was playing some of the best football of his career in Indianapolis before the injury, throwing for 3,101 yards, 19 touchdowns, and eight interceptions while leading the team to an 8-5 record.

The Colts signed Jones to a two-year, $88-million contract earlier this offseason.
