Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin was carted off the field Monday after suffering a knee injury in a 23-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Head coach Dan Quinn told reporters postgame that McLaurin's injury is significant, but that further testing is needed to determine the severity, according to ESPN's John Keim.

McLaurin had an air cast over his left leg as he rode off the field. He initially fell to the ground while running a route on a third down early in the game.

McLaurin caught his lone target for 27 yards before exiting. The 31-year-old entered the game with 14 receptions for a team-leading 203 receiving yards and one touchdown in four appearances. McLaurin has been with the team since being selected in the third round of the 2019 draft.

Washington dropped to 1-4-1 with the loss.
